Project Overview
WhatsApp Lists is a lightweight, mobile-first web application designed to replace messy, error-prone WhatsApp text contribution lists for events. It acts as a real-time, shared ledger where only the group treasurer can update records.
The Business Challenge
People tend to use WhatsApp for tracking contributions (e.g., weddings), where members republish long text lists. This causes human error (deleted names), out-of-sync versions from concurrent copy-pasting, and unreadable chat screens. Furthermore, generating dynamic Open Graph links for WhatsApp is difficult because it heavily caches the link preview for URLs.
Our Solution & Engineering
We engineered a Nuxt-based mini-app utilizing Turso SQLite to act as the single source of truth. Whenever the treasurer logs a payment, it generates a unique transaction link. A custom Nuxt Nitro server route intercepts this query parameter, fetches the historical transaction record, and dynamically injects SSR Open Graph tags. This forces WhatsApp to generate a precise, un-cached link preview displaying exactly who paid and how much.
